Abstract
Drawing from family life course framework this study examined the relationship between teenage marriage, pregnancy and high school dropout during COVID-19 pandemic in the slum area of Rajshahi City, Bangladesh. For this study, we purposefully selected 190 girls who dropped out from class 6 to 10 from the study area. The data on family background, teenage marriage, number of pregnancies, and high school dropout during June, 2020 to May, 2021 were collected using questionnaire method and interview. Descriptive and correlation techniques were used for data analysis. The findings from correlation analysis revealed that teenage marriage was significantly related to number of pregnancies that, in turn, was related to dropout rate during class 6-10. The findings may have implications for further research and social policy.
