Abstract
The application of obsolete curriculum in TVET institutions has been identified as one of the major reasons why TVET programmes are not meeting up to the desired needs of the society, hence the need for reformation for global competitiveness. In this paper four key areas were examined; these include: the concept of reform, curriculum reform and why it’s important to reform TVET curriculum; the areas of TVET curriculum that the reform process needs to consider and the constraints to curriculum reform in TVET. Based on the reviews, it was concluded that TVET curriculum should be periodically fine-tuned to respond to the needs of the society it’s meant to serve as well as conform to the present day knowledge economy that placed emphasis on technological know-how. This is bearing in mind some of the constraints associated with the reformation processes.
