Abstract
Studies illustrate that students from families with a low socioeconomic status improve their academic skills at a lower rate compared to those from families with higher socioeconomic status. Ideally, low socioeconomic status in juveniles is associated with reduced intellectual growth, reminiscence, self-representation, in turn, resulting in lower income which eventually causes poor health as an adult. Educational institutions in regions with low socioeconomic status are more likely to have few resources which consequently impact the student's academic advancement negatively. More so, low socioeconomic status contributes to higher rates of school dropouts.
