Abstract
Digital technology and entrepreneurship are growing concepts in multidisciplinary research that provides entrepreneurial opportunities using digital technologies. The challenge in existing studies is limited to understanding the impact of technologies on rural entrepreneurs. In fact, there is a lack of understanding of the concepts of digital rural entrepreneurship regarding the definition and elements. Therefore, this paper aims to understand digital rural entrepreneurship concepts and add value to the current studies in an academic context. This paper employed qualitative-based secondary data resources from 2015 until 2021. Four scientific databases are chosen as a reliable database and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method was used as the main method for conducting this systematic review. The results of 10 core papers allow for the definition and identification of elements for digital rural entrepreneurship as well as the challenges for rural entrepreneurs in adopting digital technologies. The systematization of the present literature is highly important and essential for future research that aims to understand the interrelations between the digital transformation of entrepreneurial structures within rural entrepreneurship concepts.
